Sheep Herding

Yes, we went sheep herding in New Zealand.  Well, actually it called sheep mustering, but it sounds better if you call it herding.  I was so happy that I flipped. . .off a very steep hill.

We walked out to a friends' farm about 45 minutes from New Plymouth.  We had no clue what to expect but it was unbelievable.  Absolutely gorgeous.  The scenery was spectacular and everywhere you looked you could see sheep.  Our job for the day was to run up the hills and chase the sheep down so that we could cut off the lambs' tails.  Fun.

This was the guy who owned all of the sheep and the surrounding property.  The land has been in the family for the past three generations and they have over 2000 sheep.  I asked him if we could get a picture of his hands.  They were like leather.  He told me his hands were over 300 years old!
