John and I didn't have much of a game plan driving up the coast but we did know that our goal was to get to Surfer's Paradise where my buddy Mattias was studying at Bond University.  If you've been following along, I met mat Mattias in Stockholm.  Jamie McDonald had met Mattias while he was in Australia before he lived in Sweden. Anywho, we wanted to catch up with Mattias and his gang of Swedes in Surfer's Paradise.

The night began in typical fashion, a trip to the supermarket.  After that, we found our destination which was a friend of Mattias' place.  There we met the crew and cooked some chicken on the ol' barbie.
The crew incuded L-R Henrik, Mikael, Karin and Nicolas.  Oh yeah, all imported straight from Scandinavia.

That weekend was the first weekend that all of the high school students had been "released" from school and headed right to Surfer's Paradise for an extended summer.  All of these "schoolies" as the Aussie's call them were in the thousands.  Everywhere you looked were girls who with the loads of makeup who looked close to twenty and then just as many guys who looked about fifteen.  It was interesting to say the least.

And then of course, Mattias. All of these guys are attending school at Bond University which is a small private school just outside of Surfer's Paradise.  All of these guys speak perfect English, which happens to be their second language.  Very jealous.

John and I had an absolute blast and hope that we can get these guys back to the U.S.  sometime so we can show them around.   We'll be waiting.   Here's a thumbnail of what Bond U. looks like.

The next morning John and I woke up and started our way back down the coast to Sydney.  I was about an nine hour drive and we knocked it out in a day.  Back to life in Sydney.
