We rented bikes and rode all over the city.  The place is just beautiful.  I got some great pictures while riding all over the bridges and canals.  We then at stopped at the Ann Frank Museum which added some culture to our visit to Amsterdam.  This was the original home of Ann Frank where she and her family hid during WWII.  Throughout the museum there are interviews with people who knew the family as well as the father Otto Frank. This is a picture of the actual bookcase where the Frank's hid out. Also on the left is a picture of Ann Franks diary.  Caution: there were very explicit directions not to take pictures. . . but I did this for your viewing pleasure.Ann Frank door.JPG (454804 bytes)Frank Diary.JPG (102482 bytes)

After the Ann Frank house, we had some lunch and then split up.  Cass and Dave went to the Van Gogh
museum while I headed to the internet to get some things done.  However, the internet place that
we were going to meet at was closed and so I had to go to a different one.  I waited around  for
about a half an hour and then took off, planning to meet them that night somehow. . .
somewhere.  With the luck of the Irish still on our side, we happened to meet up
five minutes later.  We decided to take the bikes down the river Amstel
and ride out to see the windmills.
