Monterosso
Words cannot describe this place. As I sit here in New Zealand, writing this webpage, I am in disbelief as I look back at these pictures. I digress, Kevin Strange and I are driving back from Mt. Ruapahu where I had my first snowboarding experience and every part of my body is sore. Back to Cinque Terre.
This was absolutely unreal. These pictures don't even
do it justice. Cassidy and I woke up the next morning early and started
walking south toward the other four towns.
Around every turn, there would be another Kodak
moment. From Monterosso to the second town took about an hour and a
half. This was the furthest distance from town to town that we would have
to walk. This was also the toughest hike. After hiking through the
landscape, we came to the second town called Manarola. We turned the
corner and there was this beautiful town built on rocks up from the sea.
All we could say was "Holy Gauca!"
We walked down to the town and grabbed some grub to hold us over for the next hour or so. Here's a picture of what the town looked like from down below. Keep in mind that these are OUR pictures and not professional photography. I know, I know what you're thinking, we are good. However, it is nearly impossible to take a less than spectacular picture here.
